I loved the Beatles, Paul to me, was the cutest of them all. He held my romantic heart, while. John inspired me to believe in more than just my limited understanding of love, and religious thought. George lead the way to understanding the Eastern Philos of theChurch. A passive way to activate ones way of understanding the Self. Meditation helped in quieting the mind. WHile RIngo was the needed comic relief that only a jokester could call to arms. They banged the drum of our hearts, we flower children of the sixties.
"All we need is love", they cried, and I believed them. I still believe that Love is the Way of God, however, time and experience has changed my understanding of what kind of LOVE is really needed.
I have come to understand, that we DO need something more then Love. Or maybe its a rediffintion of what Love kind of love we need? To some Love will always remain a romantic concept. The blind love that makes ones lover perfect in our eyes. However sometimes that kind of Love from one, doesn't guarntee the love of the other?
Would even God's love help heal our world? I think not, after all it has yet to do so? So maybe the kind of love we think can heal, we might find cant do a thing to the trappings of the Earth.
What we need in this world more than Love, I believe is TRUST. For without TRUST is LOve truly real?
Who amoung us has not expressed those words to someone, yet held a part of themselves back? How many use the term, while hurting the very person they say they love? True Love is nothing if not strengthen by Truth and Trust.
Could the disciples have loved Christ fully, had they not ultimately realized they had to TRUST in Him before they could Love what He was. Didn't Peter have to deny Him and in that denial, was there true love? They might have wished it so, but wishing leaves substance in the world of Love? Was the time in the hearts of His disciples a time for the battle between hope and faith? Even after having with Him there infront of them, the full commitment to the Christ was still being denied. And by those who professed to love and work with HIm. Of course they wanted to love, yet they had not fully understood, that to love one has to fully commit to the Lover.
So with that understanding, can we say we truly love Christ if we still have fear as our replacement of TRUST?
Truth and Trust are the first elements needed to LOve
So when the Beatles said "All we need is Love" they forgot to tell us , not the kind of romantic love, but the love of a soldier in the army of Christ!
Any relationship, especially ones personal relationship with God, takes more then just saying the words "I Love You". Is Faith a form of Trust? And what is both faith and Trust built on, if not a foundation of Truth.
If we wish to love Christ we need to speak and live the Truth of our Beings, for no Trust in what He said can take form within us, if we dont know and Trust in all that He said we should do.
Can we truly have faith in God, yet fear our every thought word or deed? Can we love? Can we Trust? Can we Trust in God if we fear our neighbor? If we cherish our bodies more then our soul? In order to be able to sing those words the Beatles proposed, we first need to Trust in Christ the Lord God of our Being, through every step of the way. Have faith in the Word of God, that translates itself into Confidence not Arrogance of the Self, Love of Ones Purpose, and to Trust Christ so that He becomes the Inner Strength of our Loving Being.
