Pagan Myths , Universality and The Miracle of Christ

March 23, 2008

Much is made regarding how the Miracle of Christ's Resurrection, was based or taken from , the Myths of old.

Many use this to debunk Christs existence.  Seeing His death, and resurrection, as nothing more, than a seasonal  representation in the sky.  They use this in support of their pagan beliefs, and in doing so, both miss and diminish His Being, rather than seeing it , as part a Universal fulfillment.

The myth they use, is also based upon Astrology which foretold planetary alignments. These alignments can be  seen in the sky, as the symbolic resurrection of Leo over Taurus. Inherent in that is, the idea of  Life brought back  in  Spring, conquering the  Death of Winter. And in truth, this is indeed a heavenly symbol of the continuum of the Christ. However that focus alone, leaves Christs Life nothing more than a  mythological representation of a heavenly constellations expression.. This in no way should be seen in a lesser light. However, to see the Life of Christ in that light alone, would leave the real reason for His existence, terribly lacking. When Christ is seen from these eyes, the real purpse and expression of His life, is completely lost.

Christ's life indeed, had  Universal alignment. And indeed, it can be seen in the heavens in a symbol  such as the Fixed Cross. However, when one only sees His life as those symbolic representations, they would be missing the impact of the reality of His experience. A  pagan seasonal representation would leave His real purpose of giving us the Character of God, missing in action!

Christ is everlasting rather than seasonal.. His life was not one of a weatherman, but rather a  "Teacher", who brought  with Him, the understanding of the true relationship of  Man and God. Nothing mythological there. He came to fulfill  the Law not to destroy it. That Law,  was the continued relationship of God and man, not excluding Universalism, but also bring Life to that as well.

Nothing is outside God, only  man sees it that way!

Christ  fulfills all those Laws. He lived in body,  Gave us the understanding of Love. Love of self, and love of others, to be seen as One. To align  His life as nothing more than a seasonal expression, or mythic ally based, says nothing about who He is or the Life He Lived. And more importantly, what He taught.

HE IS THE FOREVER EVOLVING CONSCIOUSNESS OF MAN.. So if we believe as some pagan religions wish us to, that Christ's life was based on their  myths, what would be wrong with such a belief? Wouldn't that be seen as those people who are still representing that part of  human consciousness of the past?.They themselves base their own religion upon myths, and nothing more. Where did those myths initiate, I would have to ask ? Were they stories that became archetypes in the consciousness of humanity? And if so how and even more important ,why?  What good would those stories be, if not portraying part of the consciousness of man?

However here is where I must separate Christs life, from that of a myth. He indeed lived, HE has witness to His life. What person, changed the world so dramatically , if He indeed hadn't lived?

What of Buddha? Why is he not  seen as mythological? Where is Buddha's story represented in the Heavens? Yet there are many in the East, who worship him. An interesting thought to ponder. He  taught the idea of Self Enlightenment. Christ's life was  also about Universal Good and  enlightenment.. It was, and still is, the Christ  who gave mankind the Love of God. I would have to believe there are many who can't live that Love, who see Him as only mythological. The way one proves the existence of Christ, is to Love as He does, then the so called myth, will become a reality!

Christ conquered death, and rose again. This from a real human existence, which was evidenced by  witnesses in His time. Not the seasonal rebirth  in a symbolic sense. But from the reality in Consciousness that can be reached by those who place Truth in His death and resurrection into another life. Who know it as a reality,  and by those who still believe and understand it can be achieved, even today.

His love of humanity, was unmatched by any story of old. It was an autobiography not a myth. Only those who have read it, and experienced it by living it, know of its truth.  The life of Christ  might be symbolized in the heavens with the Fixed Cross. Or seen as based upon a seasonal happening.

What meaning would that have ? What lasting Truth of His Being would that bring?  It was His Life, and Love expressed, that could only be felt and lived by a real live Man! The Love He taught, the supreme sacrifice He made , can not and should not be left for people to segment as only a myth.

If that be a portion of  the truth, it is not  however, the whole truth.  It would be closer to the truth to say ; that a universal archetype, came into being , in the flesh!

This Living Being of Universal Truth, gave us the pathway to a greater  Love. A Love of Life, that  conquered Death. A Resurrection of a New Whole Being of Himself, beyond death into a New Life with His Creator.  The true Purpose of His Being, and of our own.
