What does integrity mean to the children of God? Well if you look up the word, in the dictionary, you will find that it comes before intelligent or intelligence for that matter.
Intelligence can vary from individual to individual. Intelligence allows a pathway that can lead one to a position of power. Intelligence can, and usually does, separate man into those that have and those that have not. It is, when ego driven, the slayer of the real.
However, when used for purposeful good, its inherent power, can in one moment become, the door that can in time lead to ones Integrity.
However Integrity itself, needs no intelligence. You can find it in a native Aborigines , or in the man next door. You can expect it in a Christian, and find it in a Gentile.
Integrity lives in the Heart of God, and it is indeed inherent in His Creation.
However it is a rarely seen commodity today.
In a world where children think they need to lie and cheat to get a better position in the world, integrity seems to have become a lost value.
When rules become moot in place of what is convenient, we have indeed lost our way.
Christ ask his disciples to leave all that they had ..to follow Him. Imagine that being asked today? Who indeed would follow, without having a blood type given as proof of His existence?
Integrity, can indeed lead man to God, in fact it is truly the only real way for it to happen.
Oh we can think we are saved, and yes if we believe that with our hole heart, than, I suppose it would be true. However, could we believe that and still dislike our neighbor? I don't mean find differences, I mean be jealous of, or gossip about, or demean them to make ourselves look good? Would that be the value, ask of us by Christ, to express His Heart on earth?
Could we treat others as lesser than ourselves and still think we belong to God?
Personal Integrity, is the only binding commitment we can have with our God. It is the only true representative, that allows others to see . Integrity calls upon more than just words. It calls upon a Higher Good. It respects the Truth of Universal Wisdom. Not a inflated spiritual belief of Gods and Goddesses , with Dragons and fairies live on mushrooms. Nor the religious intolerance that comes from the judgement of others, by many who have yet to look to themselves.
It takes us beyond the fairytale of life, into the true Heart of a Disciple.
It takes us out of our need to be powerful, into our need to be Good.
It is our own integrity, that calls upon us to be more than we even think we can be.
What is needed today to reach this lofty goal?
It begins with a commitment to place our idea of Love, into something Higher.
It asks us to live honestly. To know what we value, as a character trait. To learn and live principles , such as honor in all things. To bring back a time, when giving your word meant a contract that bonded us. That when you say you are loyal, that you are.
When you decide that the invisible in your character , if far greater than the place you live, or how you look.
When you treat those you love even better than those you just happen to encounter.
When you know the difference between a true friend and an acquaintance. When you forgive a friend for the one thing you thought you needed from them and didn't get, and instead remember all the good they did for you in the past. When you learn to love others as much as you love your immediate family. When at least one friend, becomes family. When you give your word, you don't take it back, in word or deed. When you make sure that you are on time, out of respect for the time of another. When you are as careful of another's pocketbook, as you are of your own.
When you find saving something worth saving even more important than getting something new.
When the most invisible goodness that lives within you, becomes the actual Being God knows you to Be. Then a handshake will have meaning again. A marriage might last more then a few years. Children will begin to respect their elders. Merchants will give fair wages and benefits to those who devote their day to them. People will not ask for more than they earned. And from a Godly
perspective, peace of one soul will rule the land.
