I remember growing up with the idea that all people are good, because all people contained God. That is still my truth today. So when asked if all people can gain entrance into heaven, even without a belief in Christ at one time, would have of course said Yes.
Relativism at one time was part of a developing belief system. It was part of the New Age philosophy, that had begun to correct the more puritainistic beliefs of guilt and unworthiness, of the more traditional religions.
Relativism had to happen, in order to broaden our limited view of the world. We had to see that other religions had meaning , so that we could accept the people who believed in them. Relativism however, brought with it , the belief that there was no such thing as right and wrong. That all was good, and all was acceptable in the eyes of God.
We as a generation needed to feel loved and accepted, no matter what we did, and relativism, allowed us to believe that. It indeed gave us only a half truth. It went right in that God does love us, however It brought with it, a belief that anything goes as we will be forgiven. The only problem with that is, we are always forgiven in Heaven, but is that where we all assume we live? If we did, everything on Earth would be expressing the Good Character that lives in Heaven. We would be forgiving our neighbor left and right. If relativism was truly our belief.
You see men can make belief systems to suit the needs of the time. And that is ok. However TRUTH the TRUTH OF GOD, is a constant. It never changes, to suit the times. It is the Holy Principle that spans all time.
So no matter who says all is Good, and that there is not real right and wrong, then might we ask ourselves, what is the purpose of choice? Should we allow anything that comes our way, a free pass? Should we allow others to treat us as less? If all is good, that anything that hurts us should be seen as good? Can we call child abusers good? Is there a right or wrong in that? Can that wrong be the true purpose of God? I think not!
For.God is the ALL GOOD. Can a good possibily come out of a harm such as that? If it a good comes out of that, than only that part is God. God would never institue bad , that he gave to man as his choice. Knowing that He lived within the human condition, and that any good done to another in His Name, is God.
So unless we are all living a truly Godly life, where we love our neighbor as we love ourselves, and we see eveything that is done in the world as good. Than we are only fooling ourselves into believing the half truth that Relitivism.has given us.
The true Church and the True God, is one of Love. He is the GuidePost for our Human condition. Not out of guilt as in the past, but out of love for Him, who sent us. He does believe in right and wrong, for He tells us to alway do what is right. He aligns us to the GOODNESS of His Heavenly Father. He also is aware that self rightousness , is not rightness.
There is a True Character of Good, and we call Him Christ. And He calls us, to be in that same likeness, He expresses to His Heavenly Father, for they are One.
How could we even beging to see this, when part of relivisiam said, that anything we could name was not God? Therefore He could not be defined. Who would make anything, that they could not speak of?
How little we deemed God to be, when we bought the half truth of making Him to be "nothing". What good would that be? How could we even begin to feel connected and make personal a God, that couldnt relate to us, or we to Him? We defined the Lord of Limitless Love, a no thing. SO based upon that belief, Love itself should be meaningless.
As with any defining of God, by other religion, that calls us to be something other than human, should be our hint to re-evalute it. Therefore to say that their indeed is a true relgion or spiritual path, one must look to the Likeness of He who sent Him, the Son of God for our Truth. Not the altered myth, or the piousness expected by some, but the real likeness of Christ to man. He told us, we can do what He did and more.
Should we still be worshiping animals, or using them as our guides? Should we be looking to the stars as our examples? Or would a real role model on how we should live our lives, be the example of the Christ.
He wouldnt care where we would be shopping, in fact I would think, that wouldnt even be a part of His life.
For it is in Him that all our needs are met. All our questions answered. And all our Love expressed.
from this speicie, did our Teacher and Guide come.
