Today I shed tears not for the man himself, but of the values his being kept alive.
I didn't cry because of the passing of a Democrat nor of a man who had realized his dream.
I didn't shed a tear for the TV Program he hosted, called Meet the Press. I cried because of a person whose life was moved and shaped the lessons he learned by his Fathers side. Did I cry because he was a Catholic? Because he was a Father who died , and left his son bereft for his loss almost to the day we celebrate our Fathers. Did I wept more because he told the story of when he wanted to buy his Dad a Lexus a Caddy something to lift his Dad up to the level he had achieved. He continued to state, that although his Dad loved the intention, he said he was a Ford guy and needed nothing more to be who he was!
What made me cry for the loss of Tim Russet today was, that he held in respect, what all humans should hold dear. Values and integrity. When we, as a people, respect men of Character, that tells us how few and far between they really are.
What makes me sad today is, that at times where cheating to get into the "good" school is looked at realistic.
When teachers and children have to live in fear of being shot at , while in school..It makes me cry for what is indeed a forgotten art..That art not being painting, or singing or writing..the Art of a Man of his word.
My heart fills, when I see anyone whose life is an expression of their Higher Self. The true expression of our Highest Values. What stirs my heart and can move me to tears, is not sympathy, or the fact that we wont see his face again on TV, but instead the loss of a person who valued Integrity at a time when it is no longer popular.
