As a Christian, I have been unhappy with the arguments given regarding gays who wish to marry. So, after looking up the meaning of the word marriage, I came to see, that according to its definition, the word “marriage”, has little to do with anything spiritual.
And as a Christian, my spiritual understanding takes precedent.
Who would ever have thought, that in today’s world, the word “marriage” would be seen as controversial? When one looks up its meaning, you will find it applies more to possession and chattels, than anything else. Nowhere, is there an adjective under that meaning, which includes the word love? So, whether gay, or straight, I believe, neither would be fighting for its use, if they knew fully, it’s meaning. So, as TinaTurner once sang, “What’s love got to do with it?” According to Roget’s Thesaurus, nothing! This fought over word, has nothing to do with love!
You can be gay and be in love, as well as being straight and be in love. But as we just learned, the defined word, has nothing to do with love! So that means you can love and not be married, that’s...
As I sat thinking about why so many claim to believe in God, yet don’t truly imitate Him, I realized it’s because they must believe, in an outside God. Yes, God exists everywhere. One can indeed pray to a God who lives somewhere above them. However, with that belief also comes, an unrelateable unprotected distance. To truly feel protected one can't rely on a God, who seems distant. Distance itself leaves ones being feeling vulnerable. This feeling is papable to many who have felt their Godly connection. They know they have temporarily lost their connection, when they begin to experience unhappiness. All the prayers in the world, somehow don’t close that gap. However the conscious understaning of what makes us unhappy is the beginning of our reconnect.
The erroneous part of man's bodily Nature keeps us focused on filling the void, with things. Food, clothes, toys etc, as the temporal satisfactions we seek. They are all wonderful play things, but they will only satisfy us temporaraly, They only become meaningful to our spirit when we acknowledge where they come from. With thankfulness to God, they then become both materially and spiritually purposeful. It is this remembering and acknowledgement that begins...
Aren't you amazed that the very people who told us that we should not fear Al Queida are now spreading a new fear of their own...our disasterous economy. They making a not good molehood recession , into a mountian of depression. Havent we ever heard of what is called a self fullilling prophecy?
I for one will never look to the government for my security, that would be reling on man. I prefer to place my trust in something Greater than myself, my God.
Will Mr Obama be the instrument of Gods handy work, or is Mr Barack Huesien Obama the tool to finish what was started in the curse of the Middle East? After all werent we told that it the curse of our enemies to distroy our fundamental economy? Wasnt that the reason they hit the Twin Towers, the symbol of the Worlds Economy? Well havent they suceeded?
We are now being fed the fears of our financial demise, the end of capitolism! Where should we stand, once we know this? Should we defend Ceasar, or Christ? And what has brought us to this moment?
We were soaring heavenward, when we realized that what we had placed our trust in , was less in God, then in mammon. And we will...
Or how we chose to decieve ourselves..... Is the theme of this writing. Although many choose to decieve themselves through separation, in causes, rights or beliefs, the real truth is, that we already know the truth.
We all know when out of fear of rejection, or fear of loss of something we have little faith in, we choose to take the cover-up of a lie, than to be forthright in speaking the Truth. Somepeople believe that telling the truth is telling another what you believe is right for them. That is not the Truth, thats called an opinion, based upon your own beliefs and disquises.
The real Truth is an eternal One. It can only be defined in the form of living ones most ethical life. That is, having core principles of which you will not deviate from, for no one and no body. And those core principles lodged in and for an ethical behavior, having nothing to do with others, other than your Self.
Can an athetist have these same core values, even if He denounces the belief in a God? Only if this same atheist isnt out trying to promote his ideas as a given right. When it comes to ethics ,...
Both sides are constantly defining what patriotism means. Obama certainly is right , when he says its not just wearing a flag pin on your lapel. But is burning our flag, a patriotic act. Some see it as just that. To me its an act of defiance and protestation. So do we have to disrespect or defile something, in order to define our position? I think not. It is my understanding, that defiling a symbol ,that for some has the blood of sacrifice on it, would be similar to defiling the sacred wood of Christs cross.
Symbols have intense meaning, and should not be minimized to satisfy some peoples sense of anarchy . It seems that many Politically Correct or Secular minded folks, seem to easily destroy or dispel symbols , finding no qualms in diminishing their intensity. Yet those very same people will promote making use of these same symbols, when they are used as symbols of protest. Like the symbol of flag burning.
What amazes me is how angry the opposition can become, when it comes to someone having the same amount of conviction, but at the other end of thought. What I also find humorous is , how violent those who protest peace can become, when their ideas are challenged.
And still is, if it is seen as not being "against' something. Anytime we need to separate, to be seen as being in the right, we can know then, that we are in the wrong.
I loved that song, becuase it confirmed to me, that I didnt need to place my soul in any religious ideology. I needed to see that , so I could see Christ outside of any particualr orthodox religion. However, I never saw it as a battle cry to separate believers from non believers. Christ is not a religion, He is a Living Principle, a Character of Being. He is Our Planetary Higher Self.
Many believe in Him, but feel they need not live His Life. Many say they want to live His principles, but instead hate or dislike those who dont think or believe as them? Is that the Christ Consciousness He asked us to probagate? I think not! What I see now, in those who wish to promote "no religion" is a sense of superiority, that often happens to even those "SP's" who make the new train of thought a distorted religion.
The very thing they hate in what they see in those who love God and Country, is the very...
The question was asked of Christ, "what master is the greatest of all the commandments?". And His answer was, to love thy neighbor as thyself , for the Love of God.
With that in mind. I asked myself, If the One came down on Earth, how would He express that ? Would He be running for President? Would He accept abortion? Would He ask , that the rich sacrifice more than the poor?
Would He be involved at all , with that which is Caesars? But mostly, would He accept someone who proposes to do good, who is not true to his word?
In essence , can someone who believes He is King of the World, be it, if He doesn't stand up for the Truth?
The True One lives His Truth, He died for His Truth. And He lived for the benefit of our SOUL, not for the benefit of our financial well being. When we make wrong choices, God our Highest Good, knows the difference.
When you intimidate, distort, manipulate, coerce, strong arm, support fraud, to make you look good, you are not
Mr Obama may very well be the "One" for some if not many. But what exactly is He supposed to be? The Second Coming of Christ? If that is what people are expecting, then how should we access him?
People do love him, and are drawn to support him even though he has not fulfilled his left wing promises. Or is Mr Obama more our hope, than our God. Americans as a whole are good people, who want nothing more in life, than to leave our imprint of a better world. WOuld leaving this world better than we found it, not a Christ-like principle? I would think so. Is Mr Obama Christ incarnate? I think not!
I pray that he makes the world better, for it is the dream of all of us to do so. But before we crown him , let us remeber, that the Love of Christ is in us all.
If Mr Obama lives his truth, without compromising his principles, than he will be a great man. Can he heal the worlds wounds? Only the Christ can do that. Only the Christ will speak the truth always, and not becuase we want something, or so that some country likes us.
Mr Obama would be more the One, had he supported...
In a time when fear and uncertainty is running rampant in our country, would you think adding to that fear the right approach? I Don'T! In fact the one thing and only thing that keeps me certain in this time of uncertainty is the voice of Christ stating "Fear Not!"
I would have to suggest that at this time, Mr Obama looks as if he is in the lead, and is winning on what he used to decry as "fear tactics when it came from the other administration. War mongering some would say. So in this time of uncertainty, what do you call a person who wants to win by inciting more fear? Its now being presented as fear of our econony failing. And what fear hits home to a Capitolist America than what they are rooted in? Isnt that the root of all fear? Thier financial death?
America I believe is tired! We are tired of the manipulation of its people, by hype, or spin doctors , media types and all those who prefer to keep us in the dark with half truths, then bring us into the light of day!
If Obama wins, spending will begin, but his win will be based upon our fear, not...
When does life begin? More importantly , when does it end?
For those believers in Christ, if they truly commit to His Truth, Life or the Soul of Humanity will Live forever.
For those who see life only as their attachement to the individual body, they will see the shedding of their body, as lifes end.
Christ knew that He would change form, that once He passed through His own Hell, He would be with His Creator, God the Father in Heaven. He also knew that His suffering would still be a part of Who He Is, yet He knew it was the only way to get to His Father. Hence when we align ourselves through our own time of suffering, we align with the Soul of the Risen Christ, whose suffering passed through to the side of His Father. His suffering was not only His agony but His and our Redemption.
When I suffer through an unanswered thought, I immediately go to Christ, and becuase I have always done this in my mind, I always get the answer I need.
Not the answer of the intellect, or that of "how was that made?", but more importantly , how is this seen through the eyes of Christ? How...
Again , the misunderstandings of those who wish us well
July 20, 2008
The people I found were the most harsh, and blatantly arrogant, were the very people who wore the mask they call "green". Like anyone with a cause, the cause becomes greater and hotter, based upon its oppositions.
These same people who espouse being green, will think nothing of being downright hateful, to those who they see as unwilling to do their bidding. They take offense on anyone who doesn't see Mother Earth as being a Goddess, who needs constant attention to her needs. This of course is the attitude created from a feminised adulation of self. Therefore Mother Earth, is seen as something that needs constant attending to. What seems to be forgotten is, have they seen the other side of Mother Earth, called Mother Nature?
Mother Nature can certainly show us her destructive side, as do some of these same Goddess Lovers.
What I find ironic is, that these women worshippers seem to leave the idea of Maleness behind? While they apply all their focus on the feminine. They are the backbone of the green movement, and they will lionesses when it comes to their need to protect the planet.
I am not ruled by gender, however I respect the idea of caring for everything in my care....
Simply put...Evil is taking pleasure, in the pain of others . Is war evil? One has to first understand its intentions? Is going after Ben Laden more a just war? To some it is, those very same people who are now protesting being in Iraq, will now have ask themselves is this war is more just? Why would freeing a people from dictatorship, be seen as more offensive, than going after one man? After all, was it this one man who houses all the evils in the world? And how can we truly justify a nation of people under a dictator any less impotant? Can we say it was 19 men from Saudi Arabia, who commited the crime? Can we say that all those plotting evil all over the world, are less important than that One Man?
Evil is the hate of humanity, it is the complete opposite of the Christ. Christ's pain was that of humanities suffering. It is his opposite who takes pleasure in that.
So what is it that we as followers of Christ need to do? Are we to support Love, and did Love save Christ? Yes it saved Him alone, however He knew that those who wished Him dead, knew not what they were doing? But what of that in today's world? What if they knew what they do, and take...
I was told today, that I was of the Old World? I had to think for a moment , what that meant exactly?
I suppose it means , that I still respect my God, who is the Christ of my being. I suppose it also means, Im not hypocritcal, nor is sarchasim any part of who I am. It means I respect those who have gone before me. And although I dont hold grudges, I do hold in account those who arent true to their word.
I take what I say seriously , or I will not waste a breath in saying it. I ask nothing of others, that I havent done myself. Knowing full well, if I were able to do this, than they also are able. For we were told, all this and more , you can do!
I dont care what a man does for a living, I care more about what he does for his spiritual life! I want others to treat themselves kindly, but never at the expense of another. If you truly love yourself, you will have to love others, its just the way it is? If that love is only of the mouth, then your heart will know that. And although you...
When asked about the question of if there is a god, Budda replied that the question is unimportant. You can not know if there is or isn't a god, you can only serve to reduce your own suffering and the suffering of those around you. Buddha neither denied or confirmed the exitence of a god.
Many see the Budda as their godly expression, millions pray to him, as they do to Allah. Why would a person with complete enlightenment, not confirm the existence of something greater than himself? If this was the Enligten Ones explanation, I think it more then lacking. It preculdes a sense of selfishness , by placing the emphasis on reducing ones own suffering, and that of others as well. However without an acknowlegement of the Higher Self, no suffering can be eliminated. And as for eliminating the suffering of others, just ask yourself if when you are in pain can you help or even think of relieving the pain of another? I find this idea of buddas non commital "idea" lacking in the inner strength and conviction.
Budda has also been seen as a loving god, if he hasnt committed to stating he is a god, then his love would also be lacking committment....
When you think of the word Father, what does that word convey?
For me, the Father I wanted was one who would always be true to his word. For myself, I always wanted to live and be, the example of the Christ. In my mind, being true to ones word, was my ideal of what a Father should be. I suppose it was because , the father I had on earth, wasn't known to keep his? Don't get me wrong, he was as good a man as he could be for his time. However, his priorities were never the same as my own. My mother always loved him and there were many other reasons why we should. His life was a blessing in disguise, for I strove to be the kind of man, I had wished him to be!
I believe that children are born to create new or recreate what was missing in their lives. And if we are conscious of our lives, we realize this is the reason for our birth. Our purpose in part is to correct the mistakes of our past. I found my soul mate in the image of my own likeness, so in a way, I created the person hood on the shoulders of those who helped raise...
Can You Love Others.. if you have yet Learned to Love Yourself?
June 3, 2008
I believe you can. I remember having a deep love of mankind, that was held in my heart, while I learned how to truly love myself. I believe, when one has that much compassion for others, it can only be the beginning to loving more. I learned that I indeed, I loved who I was, however my misconception was, what does one accept or allow as degrees or expressions of that love?
I allowed, others to express what wasn't love towards me, because I was consumed with Love.
For a Christ, that is what is expected, for a human living with Christ, that became a deep concern.
Why if you loved who you were would you ever allow another to treat you with disrespect? Because Jesus did. He gave us the example of complete humility, and acceptance of ones destiny. His faith in who He was and His Godly mission precluded that He follow those precepts. That He give His life, for His belief in His Fathers Will..
To what degree would I go to follow HIs lead? I'm no longer sure. For I have seen too much misunderstandings when it came to love. Too many representations that hold no real accountability when we love without recompense.
Today , after years of believing the Christ was the Lord of Love, I realized that belief is not wholly the Truth.
Christ was the worlds first example of how we should love, however the essence of His Being was TRUTH.
I have seen ,as well as heard, so many people mouth the words" I love you", when indeed, I knew they did not. Many say that word, with no real adherance to its real meaning. Haven't you heard that word in a shopping mall, when someone see's something they want? Or even worse a person in an abusive relationship, say after being taken to a hospital ,after being beaten..but I love him. Can this be the Love Christ was bringing to us , by example? I think not! Again, there is never any love, if there is never Truth.
Love sometimes can be seen in moments of enthusiasim, joy, glee, etc..these , like the branches of a tree, are offshoots of the constant we know as love. Love is the parent of all the positive feelings we experience, and it is behind all our feelings of joy, no matter what triggers those feelings..However not even joy, is truly Love, it is only a momentary expression...UNLESS someone is Living in the consistant state of Love. As the...
There are of course many religions out there, that come out of not only a sense of need to express a godly connection, but also out of a culture based society. Many of those very same religions still adhere to belief in animals as Gods, or divination's and spells. Are they to be seen as valid worship of God? For those who believe this , of course they would say it is.
I believe that we are all part of a ever developing consciousness, and the peak of that development is that of the Christ. The Christ being Humanities Goal and the God of our Planetary System.
If we base religion or spirituality on nothing else, but the best representation of God in man, who would you choose as your representative? Maybe for some it would be a cow? Yet how ,other than providing the world nourishment, could that representative be Gods representation to man? The cow, would indeed be able to show us, that it can nourish others thru its generosity . And we can even say , the expression , "the milk of human kindness" can indeed have come from that, but more than that, I don't believe an ethical character can emerge.
I remember growing up with the idea that all people are good, because all people contained God. That is still my truth today. So when asked if all people can gain entrance into heaven, even without a belief in Christ at one time, would have of course said Yes.
Relativism at one time was part of a developing belief system. It was part of the New Age philosophy, that had begun to correct the more puritainistic beliefs of guilt and unworthiness, of the more traditional religions.
Relativism had to happen, in order to broaden our limited view of the world. We had to see that other religions had meaning , so that we could accept the people who believed in them. Relativism however, brought with it , the belief that there was no such thing as right and wrong. That all was good, and all was acceptable in the eyes of God.
We as a generation needed to feel loved and accepted, no matter what we did, and relativism, allowed us to believe that. It indeed gave us only a half truth. It went right in that God does love us, however It brought with it, a belief that anything goes as we will be forgiven. The only problem with that is, we are...
Pagan Myths , Universality and The Miracle of Christ
March 23, 2008
Much is made regarding how the Miracle of Christ's Resurrection, was based or taken from , the Myths of old.
Many use this to debunk Christs existence. Seeing His death, and resurrection, as nothing more, than a seasonal representation in the sky. They use this in support of their pagan beliefs, and in doing so, both miss and diminish His Being, rather than seeing it , as part a Universal fulfillment.
The myth they use, is also based upon Astrology which foretold planetary alignments. These alignments can be seen in the sky, as the symbolic resurrection of Leo over Taurus. Inherent in that is, the idea of Life brought back in Spring, conquering the Death of Winter. And in truth, this is indeed a heavenly symbol of the continuum of the Christ. However that focus alone, leaves Christs Life nothing more than a mythological representation of a heavenly constellations expression.. This in no way should be seen in a lesser light. However, to see the Life of Christ in that light alone, would leave the real reason for His existence, terribly lacking. When Christ is seen from these eyes, the real purpse and expression of His life, is completely lost.
Christ's life indeed, had Universal alignment. And indeed, it can be seen in the heavens in a symbol such as the Fixed Cross....
I loved the Beatles, Paul to me, was the cutest of them all. He held my romantic heart, while. John inspired me to believe in more than just my limited understanding of love, and religious thought. George lead the way to understanding the Eastern Philos of theChurch. A passive way to activate ones way of understanding the Self. Meditation helped in quieting the mind. WHile RIngo was the needed comic relief that only a jokester could call to arms. They banged the drum of our hearts, we flower children of the sixties.
"All we need is love", they cried, and I believed them. I still believe that Love is the Way of God, however, time and experience has changed my understanding of what kind of LOVE is really needed.
I have come to understand, that we DO need something more then Love. Or maybe its a rediffintion of what Love kind of love we need? To some Love will always remain a romantic concept. The blind love that makes ones lover perfect in our eyes. However sometimes that kind of Love from one, doesn't guarntee the love of the other?
Would even God's love help heal our world? I think not, after all it has yet to do so? So maybe the kind of love we think can heal, we might...
Much like our children fear the strict parent, who has the job of being the disciplinarian, so too is our fear of God. When you think about it , isn't that what most parents do, to gain a response from their own children? Punishment is used for our own good, right? I suppose some parents feel that's the only way their children will respond? So is this the God we admire, love and cherish, the God we want to do things? And if you had the choice, would you rather be loved or feared?
In today's world the word love has been seriously damaged. Just watch your television for a day, and see all the bad behavior that people accept under those words "but I love him?. Are just those words enough?
I truly believe, at this time in our spiritual journey's history, we need to reevaluate our idea of Love, God, Fear and Acceptance and Behaviour.
So let us begin with Fear. I can certainly understand the fear of God. I have come to understand that it wasnt really that I feared Him, as much as I feared His displeasure. It was my understanding of the relationship, that made me feel as if He was the parent...
